This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced forensic engineer to work on complex vehicle accident reconstruction and mechanical failure investigations alongside some of the industry’s leading experts.

Candidates must have prior forensic engineering experience to be considered.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Conduct field investigations and failure analyses involving vehicles and related mechanical systems

  • Lead vehicular accident reconstruction and mechanical failure investigations

  • Perform engineering calculations, simulations, computer modeling, and technical analyses

  • Investigate vehicle design, safety systems, and mechanical component failures

  • Prepare detailed technical reports explaining findings and conclusions in clear, understandable language

  • Communicate technical findings verbally to clients, attorneys, and other stakeholders

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary experts on complex forensic investigations

  • Continue expanding technical expertise through workshops, professional organizations, and industry involvement

  • Maintain strong client relationships and professional networks

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred

  • Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required

  • Prior forensic engineering experience required

  • Strong knowledge of vehicles, vehicle systems, and accident reconstruction principles

  • Experience in NHTSA, vehicle safety, racing, or automotive-related industries is a strong plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Public speaking or expert testimony experience is a plus

  • Ability to manage projects independently while collaborating with technical teams

  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth

Physical & Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel and drive to investigation sites

  • Ability to maneuver around accident scenes and inspection sites

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Ability to visually inspect vehicles, accident scenes, and related evidence

  • Ability to drive in varying weather and road conditions

  • Ability to fly for work-related travel

  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
