What You’ll Be Doing
Conduct forensic engineering investigations for residential and commercial properties
Perform on-site structural and damage assessments, including roof inspections
Analyze failures and determine origin, cause, and extent of damage
Develop clear, defensible repair recommendations
Prepare detailed, well-written inspection and forensic reports
Provide expert insights for litigation support and expert witness services (as needed)
Work directly with clients, attorneys, and internal stakeholders
Mentor and train Associate Engineers
Manage your workload independently while maintaining responsiveness and quality
Local travel is required, including day trips. This role is hands-on and field-forward.
What You Bring
🧰 Licensure: Professional Engineer (P.E.) required
🏗 Experience: Prefer 3+ years in forensic engineering or forensic analysis; or willingness to learn
📐 Technical Strength: Strong foundation in structural engineering and failure analysis
🛠 Field-Ready: Comfortable with inspections, including climbing steep-slope roofs
🚗 Mobility: Ability to travel locally for site visits
🗣 Communication: Strong written and verbal skills for reports, clients, and attorneys
📊 Tools: Proficient with AutoCAD and industry-standard software
🧠 Independence: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex cases
⚖️ Litigation Exposure: Expert witness or litigation support experience is a plus
🚁 Drone License: FAA Part 107 preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months
✅ Compliance: Ability to pass background check and drug screening
🎓 Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
