About the Company
Engage Engineer Search is partnering with a respected engineering firm in Rockland County, NY to hire a skilled Design Engineer (PE) with a focus on residential structural design. This firm is known for its technical rigor, collaborative team culture, and impactful residential development work—including projects involving masonry, structural steel, retaining walls, and drainage systems.
What You’ll Be Doing
Produce structural designs and construction drawings using AutoCAD.
Conduct structural analysis with FEA tools and validate results using Mathcad.
Design key components for residential projects—masonry, steel, retaining walls, and drainage.
Collaborate with project managers and clients to define schedules and deliverables.
Utilize GIS for site evaluation and design integration.
Prepare detailed engineering documentation and reports.
Support permitting and construction phases through technical guidance and site visits.
Clearly communicate technical design through writing and presentations.
Refine designs based on project requirements and feedback.
What You Bring
Education: Bachelor’s in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
License: Active New York P.E. license (required).
Experience: 5+ years in residential or structural design.
Software Proficiency: AutoCAD (strong), plus Mathcad, Bluebeam, FEA tools, and GIS.
Knowledge: Local building codes and residential design standards.
Skills: Strong writing, technical documentation, and teamwork abilities.
