About the Company
Our client is a growing South Florida forensic engineering and consulting firm providing technical expertise and litigation support for complex claims and disputes.
The firm is expanding its capabilities through the launch of a dedicated Accident Reconstruction practice and is seeking an established senior professional to build and lead the division from the ground up.
Rather than stepping into an existing department, the individual selected for this position will have the opportunity to shape the practice, establish its processes and standards, and ultimately build a team around it. Firm leadership is prepared to invest in the infrastructure, support staff, technology, and resources needed to grow a successful full-service Accident Reconstruction division.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Accident Reconstruction professional who has developed strong industry relationships and an established book of business and is ready to take ownership of a business line while continuing to perform high-level technical and expert witness work.
What You’ll Be Doing
Build, lead, and grow the firm's new Accident Reconstruction practice from its inception
Establish processes, technical standards, workflows, and best practices for the division
Perform complex accident reconstruction analyses involving passenger vehicles, commercial trucks, motorcycles, pedestrians, and other collision types
Conduct scene investigations, evidence collection, vehicle inspections, photogrammetry, and EDR/black box data downloads as needed
Analyze physical evidence, vehicle dynamics, speeds, trajectories, collision mechanics, and other factors related to accident causation
Prepare detailed technical reports, diagrams, analyses, and simulations for litigation and insurance matters
Serve as a retained and testifying expert in depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
Maintain and expand an existing client base of attorneys, insurance carriers, corporate clients, and other referral sources
Collaborate directly with firm leadership on business development, marketing, and the strategic growth of the practice
Help identify, recruit, mentor, and train additional engineers and support professionals as the division grows
Provide input into the technology, equipment, software, staffing, and resources needed to build the practice
Ensure technical work product meets applicable engineering, legal, and industry standards
What You Bring
B.S. or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
8–10+ years of Accident Reconstruction, forensic engineering, or closely related experience
Established and transferable book of business required
Existing relationships with attorneys, insurance carriers, corporate clients, and/or other referral sources
Proven experience serving as a retained and testifying expert witness
Strong technical background in motor vehicle collision analysis and reconstruction
Experience with EDR/black box data acquisition and analysis
Proficiency with applicable reconstruction technologies and software, such as PC-Crash, EDR data tools, FARO/3D scanning, CAD, photogrammetry, and/or animation software
Strong understanding of Florida legal and litigation processes as they relate to expert testimony
Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
Ability to clearly communicate complex engineering concepts to attorneys, adjusters, juries, and other non-technical audiences
Demonstrated ability to operate independently, develop client relationships, and take ownership of a business line
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license strongly preferred
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience building, managing, or scaling an Accident Reconstruction or forensic engineering practice
Established client relationships throughout South Florida and/or the broader Florida market
Relationships with plaintiff and/or defense attorneys, insurance carriers, and corporate risk professionals
ACTAR, ARC, or other relevant Accident Reconstruction certifications
Experience mentoring or managing engineers, reconstructionists, or other technical professionals
Proven business development and revenue-generation experience
Compensation & Benefits

Why Join This Team?
Build something from the ground up rather than stepping into someone else's established practice
Take ownership of a new Accident Reconstruction division with the backing and resources of an established forensic engineering firm
Have a direct voice in future hiring, technology, equipment, resources, processes, and growth strategy
Continue performing sophisticated technical and expert witness work while developing the broader practice
Leverage your existing industry relationships to create and grow a practice of your own
Build and mentor a team around your vision as the division expands
Receive competitive executive-level compensation with additional incentive potential tied to the division's success
Receive 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance
Establish yourself as a key leader within the firm with significant long-term growth potential
This Role Is Different
This is not simply another Senior Accident Reconstruction Engineer position.
It is a builder's role for an established professional who is ready to take the next step from performing reconstruction work to leading and growing an entire practice.
The firm will provide the organizational support and resources necessary to build the division, but the person selected must bring the technical credibility, industry relationships, and existing, transferable book of business needed to establish and grow it.
For that reason, an existing book of business is a required qualification, not simply a preference, and candidates should be prepared to confidentially discuss their existing client relationships, business development history, and approximate book of business during the interview process.
